The Challenge: a Quiz That Stops Where the Questions Start
Hair supplements are a considered purchase. Shoppers arrive with a specific concern, weak and fragile hair, hair loss, slow growth, and want to know which product will actually help them.
Karacare answered with a Typeform quiz: a fixed list of questions, a fixed list of answers, and a decision tree mapping each combination to products. Every new product meant rewiring the logic, and the experience ended the moment the recommendation appeared.
The Test: Typeform vs AI Personal Shopper
Rather than switching on gut feeling, Karacare ran an A/B test: one group of visitors got the Typeform quiz, the other got Dialog's AI Personal Shopper.
The Personal Shopper asks its questions as a conversation, understands answers written in the shopper's own words, such as “my hair is fragile and breaks easily when I brush or style it”, and recommends products straight from Karacare's live catalog.
The Results
- +16.1% conversion rate for visitors guided by the AI Personal Shopper
- +14.5% revenue per visitor overall
- +16.6% revenue per visitor on mobile
Why the AI Personal Shopper Won
- Real personalization, not a decision tree: it understands each person through their answers, not through the box they had to tick.
- Always up to date: connected to the live catalog, new products can be recommended the day they are published. No manual updates, no broken logic.
- The conversation does not end: after the recommendations, shoppers can ask questions, request alternatives and refine, where a quiz simply stops.
Not a smarter quiz: a salesperson on the site, available to every visitor.
